Combining Camaraderie with Creativity
On Saturday, November 15 from 1:00 to 5:00 I will be at the Chestnut Oak Vineyard to share my murals with my family and friends. Come at any time for the tasting of the wines that are are produced from grapes there . Please feel free to bring anyone who would like to come along as well. I will look forward to seeing you and sharing the murals with you.
There will be no cost to you as my guest. I will provide some snacks to go along with the tasting. There will also be apple juice and water for anyone who prefers those to drink.
The project started in the fall of 2013 and went on through the winter of 2014. The tasting room just opened this September. I had two previous experiences painting wall murals which can be seen on my website. The tasting room paintings were a larger endeavor, but I found that I really loved doing it. From the beginning when I was contacted by the Bollas, owners of the winery, and went through the drawings phase to come up with the images for them, and on through the work of scaling up the drawings to fit the wall space and on through the several months of painting to the point of completion, it was a pleasure. Carol Barber, another area artist who also painted a mural there, and I became friends and consulted with each other on aspects of the project often.
From Charlottesville’s Pantops area, take Route 20 north for about 15 minutes to get there. The website for the vineyard is chestnutoakvineyard.com. The address is 5050 Stony Point Rd, Barboursville, VA 22923
